So much of what you try to achieve in life boils down to your state of mind and when you are on a dietary programme the same applies – the easiest way to lose weight is to ensure that your mindset is correct.

For much of the time when you are overweight you concentrate so much of your energy thinking about how overweight you are. Your unconscious mind listens to your thoughts and produces those results for you.

Each and every time that you tell yourself that you are fat, or out of shape, or overweight, your unconscious mind believes that this is what you want to achieve and so it will assist you in your pursuit of being fat, out of shape and overweight.

The easiest way to lose weight is to focus less on what you are and more on what you actually want to be. Tell yourself with EVERY thought about your weight and shape that you want to be slim, fit and healthy.

Concentrate on what you want to be and not what you actually are otherwise you will struggle to make progress

Each time you think of food tell yourself that you are slim, fit and healthy.

Each time you sit down to a meal tell yourself that you are slim, fit and healthy.

Each time you feel in the slightest bit full whilst you are eating tell yourself that you are slim, fit and healthy.

All day long, think like someone that is slim, fit and healthy.

Over a very short space of time you will start to act like someone that is slim, fit and healthy and this will lead on to you believing that you are slim, fit and healthy as you see the results of your new thought processes.

The final stage of this process is surely that you will become slim, fit and healthy. And that really is as simple as I can make your diet programme.

The problem with many diets is that much of the information that you receive is conflicting or misleading, but there is also an issue with the biggest lie the diet industry ever tells you.

The biggest lie that the diet industry tells you is about “diet drinks”.

A “diet drink” is generally one that is deemed to have fewer calories in it than the regular version.

The term “Diet drink” is now associated with almost any sugar free, artificially sweetened, non-alcoholic carbonated drink. They are generally used by athletes, diabetics and people on a diet programme that are looking to reduce their sugar intake.

Instead of sugar they are generally sweetened by a chemical called Aspartame.

Aspartame is commonly branded as “Nutra Sweet” and in the US it was approved as a sweetener in dry goods in 1981 and in drinks from 1983.

It received initial approval in the early 1970′s but a neuro-scientist created a successful objection and it took another eight to ten years to be re-approved. Continue reading

Why Feel Guilty When You Over Eat? – Reasons You are Overweight – Lose Weight and Achieve Desired Body Shape Permanently (6)

Get rid of the guilt and do it now! Now is the time to decide never to feel guilty about your diet again

When you are trying to lose weight and achieve your desired body shape permanently you have to accept that your programme is going to take time.

I have saved this post for one of the periods when we tend to over indulge. Christmas, Easter, Holidays, Birthdays, Family gatherings and celebrations generally involve enormous amounts of food and can de-rail many people undertaking a period of diet and exercise.

One of the major issues is that when you have over indulged is your feelings of guilt and failure at your inability to control your food intake at these times.

Many people that have succeeded thus far can be overwhelmed by these feelings and completely go off the rails as far as their programme is concerned.

The problem is that the traditional diet industry brain washes you about “bad” foods and “sins” and talks to you in negative language and almost causes your feelings of guilt.

Well, that can stop now. Even the greatest athletes have a bad day. It is impossible to be perfect every day and just because you “failed” once does not mean that you have failed in your overall programme.

When your favourite sports person has a bad day - how long do you think it takes them to get over it?

Plan your week, plan your month, give consideration to any holiday period or family gathering over that time and accept that there is a possibility that you will eat too much or forget the previous lessons.

Of course it would be better for you if you stuck rigidly to your programme and did not over indulge, but if you do – so what?

Enjoy the time, enjoy the food, dust yourself down, learn the lessons and get right back to your programme without any feeling of failure.

We are in this together for the long term; three months, six months, a year, two years, five years – how ever long it takes to get you to the point where you are happy. One or two days of excess in any ninety plus day period mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Why worry about it? Enjoy it. Revel in it. Laugh about it and then wake up the next day and think like a champion again.

No guilty feelings, only guilty pleasures.

Why Breakfast Really Matters – Reasons You are Overweight – Lose Weight and Achieve Desired Body Shape Permanently (2)

The lower your BMR the fewer calories you can consume without gaining weight and the way to increase your BMR is to undertake a programme of resistance exercise during any dietary period, and ideally after you end your diet too.

Your body lowers your BMR in response to periods of low food intake.  Your body believes that you are about to enter another famine period and so it reduces its lean tissue and muscle percentage in an attempt to reduce its daily energy requirements.
